Singing Leading 101 is a participative course on how to lead effective and inclusive group singing, with demonstrations and opportunities to try things out with supportive and constructive feedback.
The in-person weekend is structured so that Saturday focuses on warm-ups, vocal health and simple-song teaching. On Sunday we go more in-depth around how to develop a group’s sound, along with teaching, conducting and refining longer, more complex songs.
You will learn:
warm-ups (ice-breakers, physical, vocal and team-building);
how to break down and teach songs quickly and effectively;
what to do with your hands (beating, starting, stopping and more) and developing your gestural language;;
inclusive exercises to adapt and integrate into your practice;
developing your group musically and interpersonally.
Ruth demonstrates and teaches with warmth and clarity, supporting each participant in their learning style and pace.
